That spirit also has a hint of something untamed, just like the life that breathes in some of the world's most exotic and visually striking wildlife that resides in the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

But something that all those species possess is also the same quality that Cabrillo had, as well-the sense and will to survive. It is that undeniable resilience, coupled with the wild-eyed spirit and sense of adventure that perfectly interplay to make them all vital aspects of San Diego's natural, economic and social facets that to this day is still attracting so many people from various corners of the world.
